Privacy is yours as well as the convenience of an innkeeper just a few blocks away. The entire house is often rented for Penn State football games, graduations, small family/PSU alumni reunions, international visitors/visiting scholars and long-term stays. Let the Home at Town Center be your private family inn! Business travelers and professional guests who are looking for a change from the predictability of hotels will enjoy the pleasure of a grand home.
The Home at Town Center guesthouse boasts three guest rooms and 2.5 baths. The Tulipa room features one king-size bed and two twin-size beds; the Serene Sea room features one queen-size bed and one twin-size bed; and the Country Charm room features one double-size bed. Guest rooms include window air-conditioning units.
Built in 1939, the inviting front porch and original hardwood floors are just a few of this private home’s authentic details taking you back to yesterday while retaining the character and charm of an older home. On the first floor, French doors open into a comfortable living room. Adjoining the living room is the traditional dining room for your early-morning coffee. Your accommodation will include a fully equipped kitchen stocked with coffees, teas, and hot chocolate and includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and two coffee makers. Basic dishes and utensils, pots and pans are provided for guests who wish to do some light cooking. The first floor of the house has a window air-conditioning unit, TV/VCR and phone. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided.
The guesthouse will accommodate an individual or a group up to 9 persons. Your group can be together and still find a place to be apart. Ideally located, it is within easy waking distance to all of Downtown State College’s unique shops, restaurants, movie theatres, Penn State Downtown Theatre Center (performing arts), cultural events, Penn State campus, and much more. Other amenities, just to name a few, all within a block of the home, are: On-line Services/Faxing, CATA Game Day Football Shuttle; Starbucks Coffee Shop, and the homecoming parade are two blocks from the house. If you enjoy a “touch of home”, the feeling of openness and spaciousness, and if you want the convenience of an in-town location, this is where you want to be! The rates are based on the time of year, the number of people in the group, and the length of stay. |
